Probabilistic and Non-Probabilistic approaches for safety assessment of linear structures
The course aims to introduce theoretical and practical notions on the application of probabilistic and non-probabilistic methods for the analysis of linear-elastic structures.
The first part of the course will be devoted to the characterization of external actions as stationary and non-stationary Gaussian random processes, to the evaluation of the statistics of the response as well as to structural safety assessment under non-stationary excitations.
The second part will focus on the modelling of structural uncertainties as interval variables.
