The International Summer School on Historic Masonry Structures (co-organized by Maurizio Angelillo UNISA, Santiago Huerta UPM and Gianmarco De Felice ROMA3, in Anagni, August 29th – September 9th) is online
The updated website for the Summer School 2022 is now online:
From the website:
Traditional building rules have been almost forgotten.
We have lost the capacity in designing arches, vaults or buttresses, since we usually deal with other structural typologies.
This International Summer School aims at providing fundamental theoretical and applied tools to analyse historical masonry structures, by combining engineering, architecture, restoration and construction history.
The school combines teaching of the basic theory of masonry structures with advanced tools for structural assessment, invited lectures and field work in the application to real case studies.
As every year since 2018 the School will receive the contribution of distinguished researchers which participated and contributed to the School since the beginning (John Ochsendorf-MIT, Philippe Block-ETH, Rosa Ana Guerra-UPM, Matthew DeJong-Berkeley) besides other lecturers and experts in the field of masonry constructions.
The Summer School is intended for young Doc, Postdoc involved or interested in masonry research.
