We kindly invite interested colleagues to submit an abstract to the session Methods and construction technologies for sustainable shells.
Abstract: The building sector drastically impacts the environment by polluting and producing waste. Self-supporting construction techniques allow for reducing waste and minimising costs. Combining the self-supporting methods and digital fabrication tools could aid the development of contemporary, highly sustainable and efficient building practices that permit the use of recycled and organic materials suitable for compressed structures. This session aims to provide an overview of the research sought to define innovative approaches for the construction of self-supporting shells.
